The BeneFITs of eating well

Eating well for optimal health  refers to not only choosing natural, nutritious foods but also to enjoy the experience as one of the greatest pleasures in life. Choosing to be positive is crucial to succeed with healthy dietary habits, it's important to discard any negative emotions you have toward eating and embrace each meal as an opportunity to enjoy yourself. Its important not to restrict your self from the foods you enjoy ( as long they are on the Paleo diet menu ), when you want, for the rest of your life.
Simple philosophies for eating well for optimal health
-Work up an appetite: Don't eat unless your hungry. Start your day with a protein rich meal, something thats easy to digest.
-Eat Local: If you cant pronounce it or you dont know what it is dont eat it, it does not belong in your body. Dont eat any "food" created by humans, stick with nature.
-Food cravings are important: Listen to our bodies. If you have a craving for carrots, i think thats a indication that your body is lacking in a nutrient carrots will deliever. As for a craving for sugar dont do to sweets eat some fruit.
-Eat diverse: Its important to eat a widely varied diet. Dont but the same stuff every time, mix it up the food universe is huge there are countless nutrients and minerals that you cant find in other foods.
-Dont eat dead food as much as possible: Pasteurization or cooking at high tempuratures kils the good bacteria and the enzyemes that are so pivital to our health. Also avoid irradiated food which is short terms means the food was nuked, if the europeans have banned this method we should too.
-Make Quality a priority: Sure its more expensive to buy organic, but you dont want to eat GMO (genetically modified organisms) foods do you. Its also true that cooking quality meals from scratch takes time and effort. But when you put something into your mouth you enjoy it for a short time, but your system will deal with it after and deal with any repersussions. We all know fast food is bad for us but we go there because it taste good and its easy. Spend the extra money on Local, organic produce. Get free-range grass fed organic meats, if you eat and drink it every day make sure its the best you can find. Trust me you will soon feel the benefits.
-Dont be obsessive: I dont recommend counting calories or preparing a meal for three hours. I suggest the 80/20 rule, 80% of the time eat well, 20% eat food that you would eat other wise. But remember also every thing in moderation even moderation.
-Enjoy yourself: People spend too much time and energy worring if theyare eating the right thing and how many calories does it have. Eat more consciously; chew slow and savor each bite.

Crossfit the "Fight Club" of the fitness industry

Today I noticed a big similarity between Crossfit and Fight Club:
As you enter a Crossfit gym for the first time, its first impression will shock you; there are no machines, no leg-presses, no treadmills, no useless cable contraptions. There are only barbells, pull-up stations and the essentials. You smell the sweet stench of exertion in the air and know that something went down here. You may even have the pleasure of witnessing the blood-and-sweat effort necessary for making a Crossfit WOD.

For anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes you are a GOD when you're participating in a Crossfit WOD, just like in Fight Clubs where men were gods when they participated in a fight. After you finish a WOD with an all-out effort it's almost a religious experience; you fall to your knees and imprint a crime scene sketch with your own sweat.

There is nothing like knowing you gave your best effort and have nothing left to give. There is only you, the bar and the clock, and in that capsule of time you're focused on nothing else but getting work done. There is nothing like putting your entire attention and focus into one task. It is your get-a-way from perhaps your desk job, your bank account.

Anyone can join and anyone can experience the greatness of what Crossfit offers. You can do it from home, at a local Crossfit gym -- anywhere. Crossfit to me means doing everything to your maximum effort and if we could all implement that same mentality to our daily lives, just imagine what we can accomplish.

One other similarity I would like to point out is community: just as in Fight Club, Crossfit is a tight-knit community. No we don't conduct our own "Project Mayhem" (in our own ways we kinda do), but when you belong to a Crossfit gym you have like-minded people that will cheer you on and support you, and you will never find that in any other place. These people all make you accountable and support you whether you're a beginner or if you're a hard core "Fire breather." We all long for some type of social interaction or there would not be such a website as Facebook, but there is nothing like having a Crossfit family you can call your own.

Crossfit is growing every day, and from its conception Crossfit has grown exponentially and is on the verge of becoming the only real no-nonsense fitness solution -- no infomercials guaranteeing results in 90 days (what a bunch of BS). Fitness is a lifelong journey, not a destination and we as human beings owe it to ourselves to be the best version of ourselves. I 100% believe that by doing Crossfit in some capacity you will experience happiness in all aspects of your life and possibly make some lifelong friends. So put down that IKEA catalog and give it a try.

Don't be intimidated, you might just find your inner self in this exact position.

How do you want to live your life?

How do you want to live your life? How do you want to play the game? Do you want to play in the major leagues or in the little leagues, in majors or minors? Are you going to play big or small?
